TITLE: THE WAR GAME

Bobbies WITH guns

THE WAR GAME

DIRECTOR: Peter Watkins
YEAR: 1965

A still shocking 48-minute documentary style depiction of life in Kent during and after an atomic attack. The film shows firestorms, food riots, street executions, and radiation sickness. Ironically, the BBC, which originally commissioned the film, refused to air it until 1985.

ATOMIC HYGIENE: Cold War Short Films
TARGET YOU
This early civil defense film is essentially a government pamphlet come to life. It features a lot of bizarre family and survival orientated graphics with a stern narrator reciting the facts of preparedness.
